The Snohomish County Division of Alcohol and Other Drugs collaborates with the Washington Department of Corrections to conduct assessments with people who are incarcerated who have co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders prior to the individuals’ release. The assessments are conducted by one of the Division’s contracting agencies, which specializes in the assessment and treatment of co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders. This specialized assessment process paves the way for people with co-occurring disorders to receive appropriate treatment upon release.
