Child Support Modification Process, Massachusetts Department of Corrections

The Massachusetts Department of Corrections (DOC) sends monthly a list of people who are incarcerated to the Department of Revenue (DOR). DOR performs a data match to identify which people have outstanding child support orders and then sends this list back to DOC. A DOC worker helps parents submit a modification request to the court. DOC also informs court personnel of parents’ release dates, so that child support modification orders can be reversed after parents are released.
